The layers of engineered timber flooring are bonded together using heat and pressure, creating a strong and stable plank. This construction method allows engineered timber to be more resistant to moisture and temperature changes compared to solid hardwood flooring.
This is the topmost layer of the flooring, usually made of a thin slice of real hardwood veneer. The thickness of this layer can vary but generally ranges from 0.6mm to 6mm. It determines the appearance and texture of the floor, providing the authentic look and feel of real wood.
Beneath the top layer, there are multiple core layers. These layers are usually made of plywood, high-density fiberboard (HDF), or a combination of both. The core layers provide stability and strength to the flooring. HDF cores are denser and more moisture-resistant, while plywood cores offers stability.
The bottom layer serves as a balancing layer. It is often made of wood or another material that provides additional stability and helps to prevent warping or cupping.

Tim and his team did a brilliant job on the herringbone flooring in our home. They were very professional, reliable, knowledgeable and so helpful during the whole experience. Couldn’t be happier with the result.
Thank you guys for making my house feel new again with the new flooring. They went above and beyond to make sure the floor was evenly laid and fixed any creaking noise which had been there for years.
I've entrusted Tim to replace the entire floors of 2 of my houses. The reason why I picked Tim again is because they are masters in their craft and only supply the highest quality products. They are also one of the very few who are capable of installing herringbone tiles.
